Ordered today, delivered tomorrow thanks to Hänel storage systems

Eight Hänel Lean-Lifts® – processing up to 8,000 item picks each month – support employees in filling and shipping orders quickly and reliably.

Items such as finished products, abrasives and parts for customer shipments are stored on up to 56 containers per lift system. By fully utilizing the vertical space in the building, the Lean-Lifts® provide maximum storage capacity within a very small footprint.

Orders are generated in the Infor ERP system and then transmitted through an interface to warehouse management software from Brisoft. This software is linked to the Hänel lift controllers and supports operation of the storage systems through a mobile terminal.

The terminal display lists the orders according to priority, and when an item is requested, the Hänel systems go into action automatically.

Better order picking performance and next to none picking errors

The Hänel Pick-o-Light-Vario® system at the access point uses an LED to highlight the exact positions of the items that must be retrieved. This dramatically reduces picking errors and keeps processes running smoothly.

 The eight Lean-Lifts® have 1,254 storage positions – each month up to 8,000 item transactions are supported. If orders are received by 2:00 p. m., shipments can be delivered to customers the following day
 Each retrieved item is confirmed using a mobile terminal and barcode scanner so that the inventory status is immediately updated by the ERP system
 Hänel Pick-o-Light-Vario® points out the exact storage positions of requested items, even when the storage system containers have varying container configurations
