With a responsibility to integrate people with disabilities into the workplace, the ‘VdK Bayern’ disabled persons’ association and the ‘Lebenshilfe’ organization in Cham founded workshops for the disabled in the Upper Palatinate region in 1972. A future-oriented warehouse with 17 Hänel Lean-Lift® systems is used to store hundreds of high-precision turned and milled metal parts for the press and stamping tools of renowned auto manufacturers, along with operating and production resources and their own tools. Three storage systems, designed specially by Hänel for the sheltered workshop with access openings at ground level, can each hold up to 40 tonnes of goods.
